Meet Ciprian Iacob | Chief Technology Officer at RebelDot, supporting Visa Cash App Racing Bulls

As RebelDot’s CTO, Ciprian’s role combines technical leadership, process shaping, and strategic involvement, both across the company and within the partnership with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls. He was there from the beginning, helping guide the early discovery phase and setting the tone for how the collaboration would run: fast, focused, integrated.

Ciprian Iacob

From Advisory Role to Strategic Partner

“I took part in all the discussions that happened at the beginning, and I was offering guidance to our team on how we can help them achieve their goals. I would say that it’s more advisory.”

His work focuses on big-picture structure, defining clear technical direction, enabling fast decisions, and making sure RebelDot stays fully integrated with the tech team at VCARB. “We’re not just a partner. We’re embedded. And decisions happen fast.”

He collaborates closely with the Head of Tech at VCARB, stays in sync with Vadim, and steps in when clarity or speed is needed. “They’re very honest in their feedback, and we make sure we’re equally transparent. That’s what makes it work.”

Engineering at Full Throttle

His first visit to the VCARB facility reshaped how he saw Formula One™.

“The complexity around F1… it’s beyond. Watching the sport on TV seems like some cars racing on a track. But hundreds of people are working to create the fastest car in the world. That’s quite a mission.”

He was struck by the relentless push to optimise, even for marginal gains.

“It’s an innovation-driven setup, sometimes just to squeeze out an extra 0.1% per season. And it’s not just about the car; it’s a race between engineering teams. I love that they’re smart, geeky, and always trying to bend the rules in their favour.”

Morning Routine with Purpose

“I go to the office almost every day, in like 99.5% of the cases,” Ciprian says.

First stop: kindergarten drop-off.

He’s solution-oriented by nature, moving between delivery, processes, and long-term tech direction, but starts each day with structure and clarity.

The Sound of a Busy Day

Asked what soundtrack matches a delivery sprint, Ciprian doesn’t hesitate: “Survivor – Eye of the Tiger.”

There’s intensity in the rhythm, and that same energy runs through his approach to work.

Balance Through Simplicity

His recovery strategy after full-focus work blocks? Simple and personal.

“My daughter and hiking.”

You might find him running through Făget or training in Krav Maga. Movement clears the mind. So does stepping outside the tech bubble.

For late sessions, he mostly sticks to water . “I know, I’m boring,” he jokes, though ice cream occasionally makes an appearance.

Circuit That Fits

His pick for a track that mirrors his personality? Suzuka.

“As the only figure-eight track in F1, Suzuka forces equal commitment in both directions. I try to do the same with my personality, analytical on one side, creative on the other, always looping back across itself to keep things in balance.”

First-Day Advice

Ciprian sees F1 through a strategic lens, not as a sport, but as a system of competing engineering philosophies. He loves the obsession with performance and the willingness to try, tweak, and reinvent.

His advice for anyone stepping into this kind of project:

“There’s a reason for every choice. Ask why first, judge later.”

The partnership with VCARB continues to push RebelDot to engineer at a higher standard, and Ciprian makes sure the direction always leads forward.
